Our story:

Founded in Manchester in 2021, Bibianna celebrates Africa’s dynamic artistic voices through a carefully curated online gallery. We spotlight emerging and mid-career artists—primarily from Nigeria and West Africa—whose work resonates on a cultural and emotional level.

Our founder, Caroline, has long been inspired by African visual storytelling. Born and raised in Lagos Nigeria to a mixed race family, art and culture has always been a big part of her life. From collecting early works of masters who have gone on to be leaders in the art space to creating and collaborating with artists, she is deeply passionate about amplifying the creative power of Africa's artistic voice. 

 Art has always been a thread though the tapestry of her life. The first seeds planted from her earliest memories of her beloved maternal grandfather's use of fables, igbo folklore and art to bring her imagination to life and teach her lessons of morality through visual images and story telling. This early seeds planted grew into a passion that has followed her through her life. She brings that passion to each piece we offer.
