"Convergence of Strength" Electronic Cable on Canvas by Patience Adekunle.
Green ground, braided black loops, a coral spiral at the ear. The face is at its most open here: cable laid in fine horizontal courses, warm ochres and reds against the black, everything converging on a steady gaze.
Patience Adekunle builds portraits entirely from recycled electronic cable. Stripped, cut and laid piece by piece, discarded charging leads and electrical wire become skin, braid and gaze — portraiture with a near-sculptural relief, and an argument about waste built into its surface.
