SEYE MORAKINYO (NIGERIAN, BORN 1979)

Seye Morakinyo, a Nigerian artist born in 1979, is renowned for his insightful exploration of human expressions and the urban landscapes of Lagos and Ibadan. Educated at Auchi Polytechnic (2003-2005), where he received the Rector's award for Best Painting Student, Morakinyo captures the complexity of life through the nuanced gestures of the human face. His work, celebrated for its dynamic portrayal of emotion, reflects ongoing stylistic evolution, marking him as a continuous "work in progress." His art has been highlighted in significant Nigerian exhibitions like the Kabani Shows and Art Zero in 2007.
