Faith O Sidneu is a contemporary Nigerian painter based in Lagos, whose expressive works explore identity, femininity and presence through simplified forms, bold colour and silhouette. Working primarily in acrylic on canvas, Faith’s paintings centre on the modern woman, her body, her style and her quiet confidence. Although her artwork radiates with confidence and visibility, Faith herself is quite the recluse, and lives and works somewhat apart from the spotlight. Operating under a pseudonym, she deliberately avoids publicity, interviews and gallery openings, preferring solitude and introspection over public exposure. This reclusive nature means she rarely meets collectors in person or participates in traditional artist events; instead, she lets her paintings speak on her behalf. Her choice to remain behind the canvas emphasises her belief that art should be encountered on its own terms, without the persona of the artist overshadowing the work.
